The Basic Steps For SEO: How We Help You Rank Higher

Some of the content on our website may contain affiliate links. You can read our affiliate disclosure here.

We approach SEO differently with every project. Here are the steps we typically follow when starting a campaign, though not all of them are necessary with every business.

Table of Contents

  • 1. Perform an Initial Website Audit
  • 2. User Experience (UX) Checkup
  • 3. Content Marketing Plan
  • 4. Keyword Research
  • 5. Link Building Strategy
  • Now You Know How We Roll

1. Perform an Initial Website Audit

This step is about discovering any issues with your website domain and content. We look at site optimization, speed, URL structure, indexability, the site’s current performance, and much more. Then we make a plan to resolve any uncovered issues.

2. User Experience (UX) Checkup

We go through the customer journey, starting from when a visitor arrives on your website. Do the buttons work properly? Does the site look good on mobile? How is the checkout process? These are some of the questions that we answer during a UX checkup.

3. Content Marketing Plan

Content marketing is about publishing valuable content that can attract the intended audience. We develop a content marketing plan to help guide our SEO strategy. The entire process helps us uncover invaluable information about the target audience that we can use in the campaign.

Once a content marketing plan is in place, we move on to keyword research.

4. Keyword Research

Keyword research is the process of discovering the kinds of phrases or terms that people use on search engines to find products and other information. We conduct in-depth research to find the keywords that fit well with your companies offerings. Once discovered, we develop a plan to target all search terms with content and optimize web pages accordingly.

The keywords can be direct or indirect in relation to your products or services as long as they have a business value. For example, the term ‘how to build a website” is a great candidate for most web hosting companies.

5. Link Building Strategy

Link building is the process of acquiring links from other websites to your company site (also called backlinks). Search engines use backlinks as one of their 200+ ranking factors for evaluating web pages.

We build backlinks based on how you serve consumers (local, national, or global). Each situation will require different tactics.

Now You Know How We Roll

Those are the five necessary steps we go through once a project is accepted. Do you need SEO for your business? We’d love to hear from you. Contact us or book a discovery call.
